LUMBERTON — Community members are hoping to raise more than $30,000 during a two-part charitable event on Friday, that would be put toward paying for a Lumberton High School student’s medical bills.From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. residents are invited to attend a $10 plate sale happening at Lumberton High School and being organized by Wade Hall, pastor for Elizabethtown Church of God, in Elizabethtown. At 7:30 p.m., attendees will then be given the opportunity to watch some matches being put on by Positive Outreach Wrestling, at $10 a seat in the Lumberton High School gymnasium. As with the plate sale, all proceeds will be donated to the Scott family.

 

Plate sale to benefit ailing police officer

LUMBERTON — The Kings of Pythagoras Golden Leaf Council 139 will hold its annual Southern Style BBQ Plate Sale on Sept. 12 at the Bill Sapp Recreation Center in Lumberton.Proceeds from this year’s plate sale will benefit Lumberton police Sgt.
