PUBLIC NOTICE DOCKET NO. SP-4012, SUB 0 APPLICATION OF JOHNSON SOLAR, LLC FOR A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on August 5, 2014, Johnson Solar, LLC(Applicant), filed an application seeking a certificate of public convenience and necessity pursuant to G.S. 62-110.1(a) for construction of a 4.99-MW solar photovoltaic electric generating facility to be located off of NC Highway 20 near the intersection of NC Highway 20 and Shaw Mill Road in Saint Pauls, Robeson County, North Carolina. The Applicant plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Progress, Inc. Details of the application may be obtained from the Office of the Chief Clerk of the North Carolina Utilities Commission, 430 N. Salisbury Street, 5th Floor, Dobbs Building, Raleigh, North Carolina 27603 or 4325 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, North Carolina 27699-4325 or on the Commission’s website at www.ncuc.net. If a complaint is received within ten days after the last date of the publication of this notice, the Commission will schedule a public hearing to determine whether a certificate should be awarded, will give reasonable notice of the time and place of the hearing to the Applicant and to each complaining party, and will require the Applicant to publish notice of the hearing in this newspaper. If no complaint is received within the time specified above and if the Commission does not order a hearing upon its own initiative, the Commission will enter an order awarding the certificate sought by the Applicant. Persons desiring to lodge complaints may file statements to that effect with the Commission. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TOWN OF ROWLANDFY 2014/15 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMThe citizens of the Town of Rowland are hereby informed that the Town intends to apply to the North Carolina Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds. Infrastructure and economic development funds are available for projects that benefit low- and moderate-income persons. The Town Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 6:30 PM in Rowland Town Hall, 202 West Main Street, Rowland, North Carolina 28383. The purpose of the public hearing is to explain the CDBG program and allow the citizens of Rowland an opportunity to express their views concerning community development needs and priorities. The Town does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, age, familial status, or political affiliation in the admission, access to, treatment or employment in the CDBG program and activities. Efforts will be made to minimize displacement during project activities, and displacement assistance as necessary will be available. Persons having any questions concerning the CDBG Program are urged to attend the public hearing and make their views known.
