Marie Locklear Jones, 88, of Fayetteville, went to be with her Lord on July 17, 2011.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carroll Memorial Baptist Church, the Revs. Bobby West and Carl A. Pevia officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Janie Locklear; brothers, Robert Locklear, Cecil Locklear, Johnson Locklear; and sisters, Harvelene Brayboy, Nola Hodges and Eunice Locklear.

She is survived by her husband, Lee D. Jones of the home; daughters, Sandra Lucas and husband Jim, both of Gastonia, Linda Thorne and husband Robert, both of Fayetteville, Judy “Gail” Jones and husband Fred, both of Lumberton; grandchildren, Lisa Smith, Kevin Thorne, Brian Thorne, Jackie Lucas; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Kyle Smith, Julia Thorne, Emma Thorne, Caroline Thorne, Carson Thorne.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Joe Anderson Truslow, 87, of Lumberton, died July 18, 2011, at Wesley Pines Retirement Community in Lumberton.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Lumberton, Dr. Ralph Richardson and Dr. David Elks officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.

He was born in Rockingham County on Oct. 11, 1923, to Grover and Sadie Anderson Truslow. He worked as a banker for Southern National Bank.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Sadie Anderson Truslow; a son, George Truslow; three brothers; and three sisters.

Truslow is survived by his wife, Virginia Byrum Truslow of the home; a son, Grover C. Truslow and wife Adele, both of Hillsboro; a daughter, Ginny T. Kennerly and husband Ben, both of Winter Park, Fla.; a brother, Roy Truslow of Reidsville; three grandchildren, Amanda T. Hopkins and husband Anthony, Jennifer A. Freeman and Christopher R. Freeman; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Hopkins and Logan Hopkins.

The visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St., Lumberton.

Eupha Jones Pulley, 82, of Ayden, passed away July 17, 2011.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Pulley was born in Lumberton on May 6, 1929, and grew up in Garland. After graduating from East Carolina Teachers College in 1951, she taught high school in Eastern North Carolina. On Aug. 12, 1951, she married the late Jim Pulley and resided in Goldsboro their early years. They moved to Greenville in 1971, and opened Krispy Kreme Doughnut Company. With the help of her children, she continued to operate the family business until her retirement in 1996.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Pulley; two brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Jan Pulley Ormond and husband James, both of Gardnerville; son, J. Lee Pulley and wife Robyn, both of Wilmington; grandson, Colten Pulley of Wilmington; stepgranddaughter, Larissa Harris; stepgrandson, Ben Ormond and wife Bobbi; five stepgreat-grandchildren; sisters, Lenora Musselwhite of St. Pauls and Dura Ann Fipps of Lumberton; brothers, Oscar Powers of Powhatan, Va., and Ray Powers of Richmond, Va.; her four-legged grandchildren of the home; and a special thanks to her caregiver, Veronica Warren.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until on Wednesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Surviving are a son, Milton Call Smith of Charlotte; a daughter, Cherry S. Mitchell of Cary; a sister, Marjorie Call Cardenas of Texas; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Luis Francisco Ventura, 11, of Elizabethtown, died July 15, 2011, at Duke Medical Center.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow at Bladen Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are his parents, Luis Miranda and Maria Ventura; and three sisters, Odalys Miranda-Ventura, Vanessa Miranda-Ventura and Abigail Miranda-Ventura.

She was the spouse of Michael Robert Ensko, Sr.

Surviving her are a son, Michael Robert of New Windsor; a daughter, Michelle Pauline of Hanover, Pa.; six grandchildren; four sisters, Olieanthis Kyger of Catonsville, Audrey Sonney of Malabar, Fla., Gwendolyn Locklear and Veronica Lee of Maxton; brothers, Milton Wallace Oxendine and Ricky Murton Oxendine, both of Maxton, .
