In Red Springs, the Lady Red Devils cruised past St. Pauls to clinch the regular season Southeastern Conference championship and a No. 1 seed in next week's conference tournament.
Red Springs beat the Lady Bulldogs 69-25 to finish the season 20-2 and 11-1 in the conference.
Shakeita Sinclair led the Lady Devils way with 14 points while Cassaundra Bell and Janee Parker added nine.
Red Springs jumped out to a 20-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Carla Pridgen led St. Pauls with six points.
Because the Lady Red Devils have the top seed in the conference tournament, they get a first-round bye and won't play again until they host a semifinal on Thursday.

Lady Pirates fall

The Lumberton girls basketball team fell behind early and got out-worked on the glass en route to a 74-61 loss to E.E. Smith.
The Lady Pirates, who trailed by as many as 24 in the fourth quarter, closed the gap to 13 late in the period off a pair of 3-pointers from Nohealani Jesus and Jalisa Baxley. It proved to be too little, too late, though.
&#8220We played hard but we played in spurts,” said Lumberton coach Danny Graham. &#8220They controlled the boards. I thought our kids played hard and didn't give up, but we just couldn't get over the hump.”
Shominque McCormick led the Lady Pirates (9-12 and 5-7 Two Rivers) with 19 points and 10 rebounds, her fourth straight double-double. Jesus added 14.
Erica Wilkerson led E.E. Smith (17-7 and 10-2 Two Rivers) with 17 points, while Shuanda Ashford added 16 and Jasmine Williams 11.
