ST. PAULS — A man was found beaten and unconscious in a ditch in front of his home early Thursday morning.
According to a sheriff’s report, a relative of Eric Jacobs, 26, received a phone call that he was intoxicated and lying in the yard of his Decker Road home at about 1:17 a.m.
The report said it appeared that Jacobs had been beaten about the face, and had suffered severe cuts to his body.
Jacobs was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center for treatment, the report said.

PEMBROKE — Several people were injured on Wednesday during a brawl near a N.C. 72 home.
According to a sheriff’s report, the fight erupted over the theft of a dirt bike. In all, six people reported injuries ranging from severe cuts to injuries inflicted with a baseball bat.
Adam Hunt, 33, of 537 Columbus Circle, was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury. He was taken to the Robeson County jail, where he was being held under a $5,000 bond, according to the report.

RED SPRINGS —A fire broke out in the home of Rebecca Cummings on Martinez Drive on Thursday, while her family was inside. No one was injured.
A sheriff’s report said the fire began in an end bedroom.
The fire caused about $2,500 to the mobile home, according to the report.

LUMBERTON — Two men were threatened at gunpoint on Wednesday and had their vehicle stolen.
According to a sheriff’s report, Alaudia Fabian, 24, and Huso Ketchun, 24, of St. Pauls said they were traveling down U.S. 301 at about 4:30 p.m. when they were flagged down by two men.
One of the men pointed a sawed-off shotgun in an open window and demanded they get out of the vehicle. The men then drove off in the vehicle, the report said.
The 1999 Plymouth Breeze, worth about $2,000, was later recovered when it was found wrecked near Pembroke, the report said.

ST. PAULS — Someone stole several tools and electronics from a Marion Road home on Thursday, according to a sheriff’s report.
Roberto Basurto, 39, said the burglar pried open his back door and stole $450 in cash and a leaf blower, an air compressor, car batteries, a Playstation 2 game console , jewelry and movies, according to the report.
The missing items are worth about $2,570, the report said.

LUMBER BRIDGE — An 18-year-old woman reported being assaulted on Wednesday.
A sheriff’s report said Ashley Britt was attacked when a gunman jumped out of a blue Dodge Neon on Lombardy Village Road and struck her with an open hand.
Britt told deputies that she did not know the man.

LUMBERTON — James Edward Lowry, 52, of 239 Allenton Road, was arrested on Wednesday after officers said they found him driving intoxicated near Roberts Avenue.
The police report said a records check on Lowry revealed that he was a fugitive in the state of South Carolina for previous charges.
Lowry is currently waiting extradition in the Robeson County jail where he was also charged with driving with a non-operating license, driving while under the influence and driving with an open container.
