RED SPRINGS -- A Red Springs man was charged Friday night with shooting another Red Springs man four times in the McDonald's parking lot during a shootout between the two men.
William Charles Rogers, 18, of Daniel McCloud Road, was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill after he surrendered to Red Springs police, according to Red Springs police Capt. Larry Floyd. Rogers was jailed under $15,000 bail, Floyd said.
Cedrick Lionell Galbreath was in critical condition this morning at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, according to a hospital spokesman.
Galbreath was shot in the chest, back and buttocks about 7 p.m. after an argument inside the restaurant spread to the parking lot, Floyd said.
Floyd said that Rogers was already in his car when he shot Galbreath, who was still on his feet. Rogers was not injured, but his car was shot a couple of times, Floyd said.
The shooting is still under investigation, and more charges are pending, Floyd said.
