PEMBROKE The University of North Carolina at Pembrokes Art Department will display sculptures and drawings by Hanna Jubran through Oct. 8.
The opening reception will be held on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the departments gallery in Locklear Hall. An artist workshop will be held the same day, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Sculpture Studio of Locklear Hall.
An artist talk will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday in the gallery.

LUMBERTON Kevin Branch has been awarded the Jake W. Rhyne Memorial Scholarship, which is presented annually to an outstanding accounting student at University of North Carolina at Wilmington. The scholarship is presented each year BY XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Branch has a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from UNC Wilmington and now in the MSA program with a concentration in Accounting. He is a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Honorary and Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary.
Branch is the son of Michael and Linda Branch of Lumberton.

LUMBERTON The Public Schools of Robeson County is providing free tutoring for students in grades kindergarten through eighth.
The tutoring, which is provided through Educational Passport Services, will be provided two days per week for two hours each day. Transportation will be provided.
