Marjorie Dixon, 67, of Raleigh, died March 11, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer at her home.
A memorial will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sandy Plains United Methodist Church, 2468 Union Chapel Hill Road, Pembroke, the Revs. Bob Mangum and Matthew Locklear officiating.
Dixon was born in Pembroke on Aug. 19, 1938, a daughter of the late Stanly Cummings and Anna Warriax Cummings.
Surviving are her husband, Tom Dixon of Oriental; a daughter, Michelle Bettex Hill and her husband, Lee, of Raleigh; two sons, Brian Bettex of Long Island, N.Y., and Keith Bettex and his wife, Sandra, of Apex; two brothers, Jerry Cummings and Gregory Cummings and his wife, Myra, both of Pembroke; four sisters, Cecelia “Cee Cee” McLemore of Charlotte, Ruth Cummings Johnson of Arlington, Texas, Lola DeBlasio of Linden Hurst, N.Y., and Faye Byrd and her husband, Phil, of Flint, Texas; three grandchildren, Claudia Bettex, Noah Bettex and Faith Bettex, all of Apex; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh.
