Roger Hardin

Lake View, S.C.

Roger Ray Hardin, 58, of Lake View, died June 7, 2011, with his family by his side.

The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel in Lumberton, the Revs. Gary Deese and Sterling Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was born on March 7, 1954, in Lumberton. He lived in St. Petersburg, Fla., where he worked for Auto Way Toyota as an Internet salesman for many years. But a couple of years ago he decided to move back to Lumberton to live closer to his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Tessie Mae Hardin; his father, Lonnie Hardin; and a brother, Sanford “Buddy” Hardin.

Survivors include a son, Victor Ray Hardin of Lake View; a daughter, Tonya Sueanne Gryczynski of Wilmington; three sisters, Cinder Rose Perritt and Janice Faye Locklear, both of Lumberton, and Zenobia Hammonds of Fayetteville; a brother, Timothy Hardin of Lumberton; three grandchildren, Kassie, Sydney and Emma Gryczynski, all of Wilmington; a special aunt, Shirley Sampson of Lumberton; and his former wife and truly dear friend, Bessie Mae Hardin of Lake View, who stood by his side until the very end.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Revels Funeral Home, 3575 N. Roberts Ave., Lumberton.

Rosa Mary Locklear


Rosa Mary “Rosie” Locklear, 72, of N.C. Old Rail Trailer Park, died June 5, 2011.

A memorial will be 6 p.m. today at the home of L.M. Locklear, 51 Holly Lane in Lumberton, the Rev. Kenneth Hunt and Christopher Locklear officiating.

Surviving are two sisters, Louise Bell and Verlene Jacobs, both of Lumberton; and four brothers, Hubert Locklear, Woodrow Locklear, Early Ray Locklear, and L.M. Locklear, all of Lumberton.

Edward Johnson


Edward Johnson, 61, of 225 Pinto Drive, died June 7, 2011, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mill Branch Church in Fairmont, Dr. Gentile Everett officiating. Burial will follow in Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs.

Surviving are his mother, Rosetta Johnson of Red Springs; his wife, Linda Johnson of Lumberton; a son, Jermaine Stubbs of Laurinburg; two daughters, Teresa Napper of Fayetteville and Leticia Johnson of the home; five brothers, James Godfrey of Brooklyn, N.Y., Johnny Johnson of Clarksville, Tenn., James Johnson of Red Springs, Jarvis Johnson of Columbia, S.C., and Christopher Johnson of Raeford; five sisters, Annie Ruth Johnson and Patricia Clark, both of Red Springs, Hattie McLean of Shannon, and Rosie Brown and Sheila Ferguson, both of Raeford; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Colvin Funeral Home in Lumberton.

Billie Leak-Nelson


Billie Ann Leak-Nelson, 51, of 128 Quail Run Road, died June 4, 2011, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Lumberton, Dr. T.R. Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabeth Heights Cemetery in Lumberton.

Surviving are her mother, Margielene Leak Roberts of Lumberton; a son, Weldon Alford III of Texas; a daughter, Glenntoria Nelson of Lumberton; two brothers, Wilbert Leak and Rico Leak, both of Lumberton; a sister, Vashti Peterson of Ft. Stewart, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Colvin Funeral Home in Lumberton.

William Glover

St. Pauls

William Jr. Glover, 76, of 460 Avery Road, died June 6, 2011, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church in St. Pauls. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Mt. Zion Holiness Church in St. Pauls.
