Free dining for vets and active duty

LUMBERTON — Active duty military and veterans can eat a free buffet dinner at Golden Corral Buffet & Catering of Lumberton from 4 to 9:30 p.m. on Monday.

The third annual event celebrates the restaurant’s Military Appreciation Monday.

Last year, Golden Corral served 375,000 free meals to military members in the country, and more than 1,000 in Lumberton at its restaurant located at 4928 Kahn Drive. The company also raised more than $2,000 for the local chapter of Disabled American Veterans.

Belk open at 3 a.m.

on Black Friday

LUMBERTON — Belk stores will open at 3 a.m. for Black Friday shopping on Nov. 25, the earliest the store has ever opened.

There will be a blockbuster store-wide sale with more than 285 EarlyBird specials from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m.
