Evelyn McCormick Smith, 82, of Lumberton, died on July 6, 2011, at Southeastern Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Smith Cemetery in Lumberton, the Rev. Leroy Burke officiating.
She was born in Robeson County on Aug. 9, 1928, to the late Fred and Ida Foley McCormick. She previously worked as a switchboard operator for Robeson County and was a lifelong member of East Lumberton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Horace M. Smith; and a daughter, Bobbie Brim.
Smith is survived by her three sons, Reggie Smith and wife Brenda, Dwayne Smith and wife Sarah and Jerry Smith, all of Lumberton; a daughter, Dorothy Kinnaman and husband Bruce, both of Morehead City; a son-in-law, Bronson Brim of Rockingham; a brother, Raeford McCormick of Texas; a sister, Lucille Rushing of Florence, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St., Lumberton and at other times at 401 W. 33rd St., Lumberton.

Goldie Davis, 87, of Bladenboro, died July 5, 2011.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Round Branch Baptist Church, the Rev. Victor Singletary officiating. Burial will follow at the Davis family cemetery.
Surviving are a brother, Jessie Morgan of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Vivian Davis of Washington, D.C. and Pauline Gibson of Clinton, Ohio; a grandson; and three great-grandchildren.
Edith Gray Hardee, 85, of Grimesland, died July 5, 2011.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Jewell of Washington, Kathy Braxton of Simpson, and Vickie Cross of Grimesland; sons, Curtis Hardee and Danny Hardee, both of Grimesland; sisters, Nancy Mills of Grimesland and Janie Wadford of Greenville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Pearl Scherer, 91, of 5228 Ahoskie Drive, died July 2, 2011, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A memorial will be at a later date.
Surviving are a daughter, Brandie Scherer of Hope Mills; a son, Norman Scherer of Phillippines; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
