Alfreedia “Al” McLean, 59, of Shannon, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, in Cape Fear Conference B. Headquarters in Raeford. The Revs. Otis McMillan and Dr. Thurman Thurman McGougan officiated. Burial followed in Bridges Grove AME Zion Church Cemetery in Shannon.
He was born June 3, 1947, in Shannon to the late Dwight Moody and Frankie McLean. Al was preceded in death by a sister, Marion McLean; and two brothers, Laymon and Lacy T. McLean.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Margaret McLean of Fayetteville; one son, Kim Maurice McLean and his wife, Marlo, of Raleigh; one daughter, Lisa Michelle McIntyre and her husband, Randy, of Fayetteville; one loving sister, Francis “Lois” Haynes of Shannon; two brothers, Martin McLean and his wife, Anita, of Bronx, N.Y., and Dwight McLean and his wife, Lorraine, of Newark, N.J.; and seven grandchildren, Marisha, Antoine, Marquis and Michael, all of Raleigh, and Brandi, Brionna and Bryan, all of Fayetteville. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Thelma, Roxie and Juanita, all of Shannon; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
