LUMBERTON Once again rain has played havoc on athletic schedules in Robeson County as wet field conditions have forced the postponement of four in-county rivalry games.
Lumberton’s home baseball game against Southeastern Conference rival Purnell Swett slated for 7 p.m. has been rescheduled to Monday. The Rams’ softball squad was also slated to battle the Pirates and that contest has also been moved to Monday.
A Southeastern Conference track meet at Hoke was also moved to Monday.
In Three Rivers Conference play, Fairmont was set to battle St. Pauls in baseball and softball at 5 p.m. However, those contests are now scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday.
