Man accused of choking 2 women
LUMBERTON - James Mack Jr., 37, of McDonald, is accused of choking two women Sunday after breaking into a home on Elijah Road.
The sheriff's report said Mack kicked in the door at the home and attacked the women. Mack, of 302 E. Boyce Road, was charged with two counts of assault on a female, breaking and entering and injury to real property.
He was jailed without bond.
Man jailed for choking attempt
ORRUM - Rodney Bethea, 29, was arrested Friday and charged with felony assault by strangulation.
Bethea, of 8077 Wiregrass Road, Orrum, was jailed without bond.
A/C units stolen from business
LUMBERTON - Someone broke into the We Care For You office on N.C. 211 and took two air conditioning units, according to a sheriff's report.
Anissa Bullard reported the break-in on Saturday. Each unit is valued at $3,500.
Man attacked during break-in
LUMBERTON - A Lumberton man was hospitalized Saturday after being struck in the head by a man who broke into his girlfriend's home, according to a sheriff's report.
Authorities are not sure what object was used to assault 27-year-old Scottie Howington.
The alleged incident happened about 11 p.m. on Callie Road. Howington lives on Rice Road.
Man jailed for breaking, entering
LUMBERTON - Harry Chavis, 30, of Lumberton, was arrested Friday and charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny.
Chavis, of 9414 N.C. 211 East, was jailed under a $5,000 bond.
