Luvenia “Tennie” Dial Oxendine, 90, of 1203 U.S. 74 West, died Wednesday at Woodhaven Nursing and Alzheimer's Care Center.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Harpers Ferry Baptist Church, the Revs. Ray Bryant and John L. Locklear officiating. Burial will follow at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Oxendine was the daughter of the late Henry Berry Dial and Avie Maynor Dial.
She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Oxendine; two daughters, Alphosene O. Lester and Grace Oxendine; and two sons, J. Clinton Oxendine and Jerry Ray Oxendine.
Surviving are three sons, Grady L. Oxendine of Aston, Pa., Willie Oxendine of Nokesville, Va., and Bobby Oxendine of Lumberton; four daughters, Josephine Todd Cosello of Wilmington, Del., Carol Jean Green of Spring Lake, Mich., Helen Locklear of Lumberton and Shelia O. Harris of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Sarah D. Munoz' of San Diego; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Thompson's Funeral Home and at other times at the Oxendine home, 1203 U.S. 74 West, Lumberton.
