Alex Earl Wilson, 79, of 4340 Old Whiteville Road, Lumberton, died Sunday at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Rev. Greg Long officiating. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery.
Wilson was born on April 8, 1924, in Robeson County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Jenny Lee Wilson; a son, Joe Wilson Sessoms, and by a sister, Opal Martin.
Surviving are his wife Mavis Wilson, of the home; two stepsons, Pete Ard of Moncks Corner, S.C., and Calvin Ard of Lumberton; two daughters, Brenda Hart and her husband Bill, and Audra Hardee and her husband Robert, all of Lumberton; five stepdaughters, Loretta Bryant of Columbia, S.C., Rita Mauney of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Cindy Brown of Hemmingway, S.C., Gypsy McKensie of Clemmins, S.C., and Renee Tate of Winston-Salem; a brother, Rowland Wilson of Lumberton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and 12 stepgrandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory.
