Iva Hunt, 80, of Rowland, died Wednesday at Saint Eugene Medical Center in Dillon, S.C.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Reedy Branch Baptist Church in Rowland, the Revs. Kenny Mitchell, Bruce Chavis and Cregg Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Hunt family cemetery.
Hunt was born in Robeson County on Feb. 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Braxton and Mary Etta Hunt. She was the wife of the late Stacy Hunt.
The family said: “She was a loving wife and mother, she devoted her life to being a wonderful homemaker.”
She was preceded in death by a son, Belton Hunt and an infant daughter, Geraldine Hunt.
Surviving are four sons, Earl Ray Hunt of Little River, S.C., Hal Douglas of Lumberton, and Leonard Hunt and Timothy Hunt, both of Rowland; five daughters, Jo Ann Hunt, Mary Jane Hunt and Gloria Fay Hunt Brooks, all of Rowland, Paula Kay McLean of Maxton and Rita Sampson of Lumberton; seven sisters, Charity Hunt, Coleea Ransom, Glois Hunt, Edith Strickland, Lena Oxendine, Evelyn Jacobs and Alma Hunt; three brothers, Lucious “Buck” Hunt, Racious “Skinner” Hunt and Charles Hunt; 33 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Boles Funeral Home in Rowland.
