PEMBROKE The Pembroke Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Business After Hours at Metcon Construction on May 19.
The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Metcon, located at 763 Comtech Drive. The chamber invites the community to the get-together for networking, fellowship and food.

RALEIGH Travis Branch, the management information systems director with the city of Lumberton, is the recipient of a $1,700 UNC School of Government Scholarship Award from the Local Government Federal Credit Union.
Branch, who is one of 18 scholarship winners, will use the money to attend the Certified Government Chief Information Officers Program at the SOG at UNC-Chapel Hill.
The SOG is the largest university-based local government training, advisory and research organization in the country.

PEMBROKE The GMAT mobile testing bus will be at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke on May 14-16.
The Graduate Management Admission Test or GMAT is an admission requirement for nearly every graduate business program in the world.
The test will be offered May 14, 15 and 16 at 9 a.m. and again at 1:15 p.m.
About 250,000 graduate school candidates take the test each year. The GMAT costs $250, and registration may be completed online at mba.com/gmatbus and must be completed 24 hours in advance.
