Property stolen from Joan Street home
LUMBERTON - Betty Tyner reported more than $2,000 worth property was stolen during a break-in at her Joan Street home Tuesday, according to a sheriff's report.
Tyner said a $1,000 set of golf clubs, an $800 pressure washer and $500 in tools were taken.
Woman says man beat her with stick
ST. PAULS - Amanda Oxendine said a man beat her with a stick Monday morning as she was sleeping, according to a sheriff's report.
Oxendine said she did not know the man or how he got into her Great Marsh Church Road home about 11 a.m. There was no evidence of a robbery, the report said.
Oxendine's condition was unavailable.
Boys charged in gun thefts
LUMBERTON - Two Lumberton teenage boys were charged with stealing more than a dozen guns from two residences in the county, a sheriff's report said.
Derek Madden, 16, and John Mayers, 16, were both charged with two felony counts of breaking and entering and two felony counts of larceny.
Madden, of 8486 N.C. 72, and Mayers, of 352 Gem Road, were each jailed under a $10,000 bond.
