Floyd Ray Richardson, 67, celebrated his Homecoming Day on Nov. 7, 2008, as he was welcomed into the arms of Jesus. Ray left this world to begin a new life with a healed body and mind.
He leaves behind to meet him one day his wife, of 49 years, Nellie Mae Richardson; three daughters and their husbands, Kim and Michael Walker, Dawn and Anthony Hardin, both of Lumberton, and Lovey and Anthony Thompson of Wilson; eight grandchildren, Amber, Crystal and Hannah Walker, Brooke, Kayleigh, and A.J. Hardin, Lauren and Cameron Mizell; six sisters, Betty McLamb, Margaret Cox, Gail Allen, all of Lumberton, Peggy Edmund of Virginia, Pat Hedgpeth of Fairmont and Irene Britt of McDonald; a brother, Gene Richardson of Lumberton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Mary Richardson, and a sister, Pauline Barfield.
The celebration of his life will be held at Trinity Holiness Church at 3 p.m. Sunday, the Revs. L.F. Hatchell, Anthony Hardin and Russell Kinlaw Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
The family received friends at Trinity Holiness Church on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at other times at the home at 500 Duart Road, Lumberton.
