MAXTON The Lumbee Sovereignty Coalition will hold a meeting on Thursday during which the gaming contract between Lewin International and the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina will be discussed.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Prospect Men’s Club, which is behind Prospect United Methodist Church, across from Prospect School. The church is located at 3929 Missouri Road, Maxton.

LUMBERTON The Robeson County NAACP is sponsoring the Meet the Candidates at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Townsend Building, 102 N. Chestnut St., across from the county library.
The forum will include candidates running for office in the May 4 primary election. There will be a question-and-answer period.
