Sgt. Roscoe Marvel Ford, 81, formerly of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Lumberton, died Aug. 10, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Rowland, the Revs. D. Steven Stutts, W.E. Cummings and J.F. Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Memorial Park in Rowland, directed by McMillan Funeral Home with full military rites.
Ford was born on Sept. 11, 1922, to the late Shepherd and Ruby Ford. He received his education in the Robeson County school system and later joined and retired from the United States Army. He was married to the late Esther McQuaige Ford of Lumberton.
Surviving are a daughter, Angela K. Ford of Garner; a granddaughter, Nashica Thompson of Durham; a brother, Alphonso Anderson of Baltimore; a nephew, Dwight Nick of Maxton; a special cousin, Robert Hargrove of Rocky Mount; three sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church before the service.
