Myrtle Rose Locklear, 62, of 124 Warwick Mill Road, Lumberton, died April 15, 2009, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Burnt Swamp Baptist Church, the
Revs. Keith Long and Abner Carter officiating. Burial will follow in
the church cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Locklear; her parents,
Feeman Carter Sr. and Ella Jane Carter; and a grandson, Kelcey Carter.
She is survived by a son, Zonnie Locklear of Lumberton; a daughter,
Kimberly Locklear of Lumberton; two brothers, Leon Carter and Freeman
Carter Jr., both of Lumberton; five sisters, Vivian Drew of
Greensboro, Bonnie Smith of Winston-Salem, Pandora Carter, Cynthia
Chavis and Sylvia Dial, all of Lumberton; a special granddaughter,
Kenya Carter; and eight other grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Revels Funeral
Home in Lumberton.
