To the Editor,
Another year has gone by, another birthday, another holiday and still no justice for Chad Allen Arnette. And the men that murdered our son, brother, grandson, cousin, uncle and friend, have not yet gone to trial for murder.
And this is why I want to tell you about murder. You think it cannot touch your life?
Well, my friend, let me tell you, no one is safe from it! It can happen to you, it can happen to your family. It can happen to your friends. Murder does not care about the color of your skin. It does not care how much money you have in the bank. It does not care how much education you have. It does not care what religion you are. It does not care whether you are a bad person or good person. Murder will change your life forever.
Families and friends that have lost loved ones to murder go through more than just the normal grief. We go through the grief of knowing someone took our loved ones life.
And the life that we had, our dreams and our future, will never be the same; we just go through the motions of everyday life.
For us, there is not an answer. The only answer Ive got is that the dead have no rights. A person can slander and libel and say anything they want about your loved one and you cant stop it. And that the family left behind can do nothing about it but put their fate in the legal system.
