Benjamin S. Whittington, of Jamaica, N.Y., died Friday.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Roehill Missionary Baptist Church, the Revs. William Vaught and Michael A. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cotton Valley Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Ann P. Whittington of Monch Corner, S.C.; four sons, Andrew Whittington and Terrence Whittington, both of Rocky Mount, N.C., Dallas Whittington of Pine Tops, N.C., and Benjamin Whittington Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; three daughters, Edna N'Guesson, Daphine Jones and Zenetta Sutton, all of Greensboro; four brothers, Foster Whittington Jr. of Queens, Abraham Whittington of Rowland, N.C., Issac Whittington of Baltimore, and Jacob Whittington of Memphis, Tenn.; a stepbrother, Alex Bethea of Fairmont, N.C.; six sisters, Marcree Stephens of Elizabethtown, N.C., Priscilla Bethea of Fairmont, Eutha Tart of Laurinburg, N.C., Mary Newell of Queens, Martha Cushion of Rowland, and Creola McCoy of Lumberton, N.C.; two stepsisters, Naomi Rowell and Annie McCormick, both of Fairmont; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Jackson's Chapel in Rowland.
