Ava Grey Hayes Caison, 77, of Smithfield, died Dec. 9, 2008, at Liberty Commons of Benson.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Way of Life Baptist Church, the Rev. L.E. Godwin Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in the Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
Caison was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Robeson County. She was the daugther of the late John Sabastine and Bessie Lovett Hayes. She was owner and operator of the Smithfield Sewing Center in the Pine Needles Shopping Center for several years along with her husband and was also a member of the Way of Life Baptist Church in Clayton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Caison and two sisters, Eunice Thompson and Clara Mae Parnell.
Surviving are a sister, Quessie Edwards of Emporia, Va.
