Irdell Stevens, 86, of Whiteville, died Dec. 6, 2006, at Columbus Regional Healthcare.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, the Rev. Kendall Cameron officiating. Interment will follow at Flynn Cemetery with Masonic rites.
Stevens was born in Columbus County on Aug. 7, 1920, the son of the late Jasper Stevens and Sallie Ikner Stevens. He was a retired salesman with Scottish Packing Company in Lumberton.
He was a member of Lebanon Masonic Lodge, No. 207, and served as chaplain for 44 years. He was the chaplain of the Columbus County Shrine Club for more than 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Bunn-Keystone Sunday School class.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louetta Tedder Stevens.
Surviving are a daughter, Myrtle Bright and her husband, Warren, of Whiteville; two sons, Roger Stevens and his wife, Jean, of Clarendon, and Gene Stevens and his wife, Kathleen, of Lake Charles, La.; a sister, Alene Bellamy of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Steven Bright and his wife, Dana, Mary Barnette and her husband, Rick, Saberina Tuton and her husband, Johnny, Missy Leigh and her husband, Larry; two great-grandchildren, Josh Bright and Noah Tuton.

The visitation is from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Peacock's Chapel in The Pines.
