LUMBERTON Three women have been invited to the 84th annual North Carolina Debutante Ball.
Sara Elizabeth Grissom, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lee Grissom Jr., Morgan Lynne Haskins, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Craig Haskins, and Katye Marie Jobe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Forrester Jobe, will attend the ball Sept. 9 through 11.
The Debutante Ball is sponsored by the Terpsichorean Club and is held to present North Carolinas prominent young ladies and honor their families. The invitiations recognize contributions of their families to the economic, cultural, social, and civic life of North Carolina, according to a release.
PEMBROKE Stephen Russell Prevatt, of Lumberton, was recently admitted as a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society after successfully completing the societys examination.
Actuaries evaluate the financial impact of current economic, legal and social trends on future events.
Prevatt is the son of Kenneth R. Prevatt of Garner and Kay Morrow of Richland, Mo. and the grandson of the late Clarence and Lois Prevatte of Lumberton. He is the great grandson of the late Angus and Addie Prevatte of Pembroke.
