LUMBERTON - Lumberton Radiological Associates can now perform CT scans, as well as other diagnostic tests.
CT scans are used for a wide range of medical conditions, including headaches, abdominal pain, sinus disease, pneumonia and cancer, according to Dr. Bob Cherichella.
The office is using a Toshiba Aquilon multi-detector CT.
“We looked at a lot of different scanners before picking the Toshiba,” Dr. Jim Parker said. “Not only can this machine scan the whole body in just a few seconds ,it can produce a voxel, which is a 3-D pixel … less than 1/50th of an inch.” ”
LRA also offers X-rays, mammography, ultrasound, bone density analysis and pain management.
