LUMBERTON A basic food preservation workshop will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday and continue from 2 to 3:30 p.m. June 3, June 10, July 15 and July 29 at the O.P. Owens Agriculture Center in Lumberton.
Hands-on training in freezing, drying, water bath and pressure canning, pickling and jams will be from 4 to 7 p.m. June 3, June 10, July 15 and July 29. The cost to attend these classes is $5 per class. Participants must attend the initial class before advancing to the hands-on portion.

LUMBERTON A bicycle skill and challenge rodeo for children in first through fifth grades will begin at 2 p.m. today at Kami Authentic Japanese Cuisine in Lumberton.
There will be refreshments and prizes. Bicycle and helmets will be provided, though participants may bring their own.
