Man reported shot in robbery attempt
LUMBERTON - A gunman reportedly shot Servando Rodriguez in the leg during a robbery attempt Saturday night, a sheriff's report said.
Rodriguez, 43, of the Homestead Mobile Home Park on Pine Log Road, was shot in the right leg after he told the gunman he didn't have any money. Rodriguez was shot about 10:15 p.m. outside a mobile home at the Homestead Mobile Home Park.
Rodriguez's condition wasn't available.

Rowland teen beaten with bat
FAIRMONT - Sheriff's juvenile detectives are investigating a beating Sunday night that left a Rowland teenager hospitalized, a sheriff's report said.
The girl was reportedly beaten with a baseball bat by at least one other girl at a home on Comanche Road in Fairmont about 6:30 p.m. The girl was treated and released from Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Pembroke man shot in the face
PEMBROKE - A Maxton man was shot in the face as he rode in a car on Candy Park Road near N.C. 711 and Deep Branch Road early Saturday morning, a sheriff's report said.
Jonathan Locklear, 22, of Island Grove Road, was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
Locklear was shot while riding in a 1988 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Joseph Bryant, 19, of Sanbryer Lane, Maxton. Bryant was not injured.
Bryant reported about $250 damage to the car.

Man beaten with pool stick
MAXTON - Alton Bullard was beaten with pool stick by an acquaintance on Red Hill Road Saturday, a sheriff's report said.
Bullard, 50, of Red Hill Road, was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, but his condition wasn't available.

Man hit in head with hammer
PEMBROKE - Sherman Locklear reported that an acquaintance hit him in the head with a hammer Saturday night, a sheriff's report said.
Locklear, 55, of Philadelphus Road, was beaten in his kitchen and taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Man shot as he walks to his car
ROWLAND - Anthony Locklear was shot twice as he walked to his car on Harleyville Road Saturday, a sheriff's report said.
Locklear, 29, of U.S. 74 West, Lumberton, was shot in the arm and leg about 4:50 p.m. He was treated and released from Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Harleyville Road home hit by gunfire
ROWLAND - Sheriff's detectives are investigating a shooting into an occupied Rowland home on Harleyville Road Saturday night, a sheriff's report said.
No one was injured in the shooting.
James Locklear, 68, of Harleyville Road, reported about $300 damage to his home from the shooting.
