LUMBERTON Dr. Karol A. Richards has joined the medical staff of Southeastern Regional Medical Center as an intensivist, practicing exclusively in the intensive care unit within the medical center.
A native of South America, Richards earned her medical degree from St. Georges University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, in 1994. She completed an internal medicine residency at Seton Hall University in N.J. in 1998. She also completed a fellowship in critical care medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2000.
Richards is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Critical Care Medicine. She moved to North Carolina from Missouri, where she worked as an intensivist with St. Johns Mercy Medical Center.
