UNCP golfers fifth in Southeast Regionals

CONCORD - The University of North Carolina at Pembroke men's golf team finds itself in fifth place after two days of the NCAA Div. II Southeast Regional Golf Tournament at Rocky River Golf Club in Concord.
The Braves' team total of 612 trails Peach Belt Conference champion and tourney leader USC-Aiken by 27 strokes, but is just 7 strokes out of second.
Leading the way for UNCP is Matt Page, who recovered from an opening round of 79 to card an even-par 72 for a 151 total.
Teammate Chris Helms is 1 stroke behind at 152 and Travis Marshall is another stroke back at 153.
Matthew Morrison has tallied 156 over the two days and Lee Nejberger stands at 166.
The tournament concludes today.
