PEMBROKE — Two masked men armed with shotguns stole about $3,000 from Lowery’s Country Store Thursday afternoon, according to a sheriff’s report.
JoAnn Locklear, 53, told deputies she was working in the store at 238 Onnie Joe Road when she saw two men drive up on a red Honda 4-wheeler and park behind the business. She said the men walked into the store and demanded the money.
The report said the men fled on the 4-wheeler toward Missouri Road.

LUMBERTON — A man was shot in the foot during a fight that followed an argument about a cigarette on Thursday, said a sheriff’s report.
Lamont Sears, 20, told deputies that a group of young men walked up to him and asked for a cigarette. Sears said he refused and the men started arguing and cursing, which eventually led to a fight in the roadway on N.C. 211.
The report said that one of the men pulled out a pistol, and began shooting, striking Sears in the right foot.
Sears was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, the report said.

FAIRMONT — Someone shot into a mobile home belonging to Kevin Collins, 34, on Thursday.
According to the sheriff’s report, Collins said that two family members were inside the home on Turkey Branch Road when they heard a window shatter and found a bullet on the kitchen window sill.
Damage to the home was about $150, the report said.

LAUREL HILL — Eddie McDuffie, 37, of Allen Baucom Farms on Fairly Road, told deputies that someone stripped copper from seven irrigation systems on Thursday. The report said the systems were worth about $27,000.

LUMBERTON — James Hunt, 27, told deputies that someone stole $2,400 worth of items from his home on Dallas Road.
The report said that the burglar broke the glass on the front door to enter and stole a 55-inch Toshiba LCD television, a laptop and a printer.

ROWLAND — Robert Dwayne Wood, 29, was arrested at his home at 251 Henry Berry Road on Thursday and charged with one count each of breaking and entering, felony larceny and misdemeanor larceny.
The sheriff’s report said his bond was set at $10,000.

LUMBERTON — A vehicle reported stolen from Fairmont was found Thursday destroyed by a fire on Birtie Road, according to a sheriff’s report.
The 1993 Chrysler Concorde, which belonged to Margaret Douglas Smith of Fairmont, was found on cinder blocks without its rims and tires, the report said.
