Bethel “Benford” Dial, 88, of 1949 Whistling Rufus Road, was born Jan. 13, 1923, and died Dec. 29, 2011, at his home.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bear Swamp Baptist Church, the Revs. Dr. Mike Cummings and Dr. Timmie Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Bear Swamp Church Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Sara Bullard Dial; five brothers, Franklin Dial, Sidney Dial, Sol Dial, Peter Dial Jr. and the Rev. James “Jimmy” Dial; and two sisters, Emma Dial Locklear and Rebecca Dial Locklear.

Surviving are his wife, Isabelle Maynor Dial of the home; five sons, Jerry Dial and wife Pauline, Nelson Dial and wife Suzette, John Phillip Dial and wife Joyce, Benford Dial Jr. and wife Debbie and Cornelius Dial; four daughters, Miriam Locklear and husband Paul, Carolyn Smith and husband Bobby, Sylvia Chavis and husband Vinson and Lottie Ruth Chavis and husband Nelson; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.

Joseph Odell Ingram, 83, of Lumberton, passed away Dec. 29, 2011, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, the Rev. Eric Cain officiating.

Ingram was an Army veteran and retired from Alamac Knitting (West Point).

He was preceded in death by parents, Oliver and Nettie Ingram; and a sister, Mollie Ingram Powers.

Left to cherish his memories are wife Barbara McDonald Ingram,and several nieces and nephews.

Keith McCray Bryan, 47, of North Charleston, formerly of Bladenboro, died Dec. 26, 2011.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today in Boles Funeral Home Chapel in Red Springs. Burial will be at a later date in Honduras.

Surviving are her daughter, Miriam Leticia Cabrera Reyes; her father, Jose Mauro Cabrera; her mother, Carmen Mendoza; a brother, Frances Anael Cabrera Reyes; and a sister, Nora Elizabeth Cabrera Reyes.

Shirley Faye Davis, 58, of 514 Edens Ave., died Dec. 28, 2011, at home.

The funeral will be noon Saturday at Cromartie Temple in Lumberton, Pastor Sylvalla Washington officiating. Burial will follow in Marantha Gardens.

Surviving are two daughters, Ellen McClure of St. Pauls and Lakisha Davis of Lumberton; five sisters, Linda Jennings, Letha Robinson, Priscilla Sinclair, Carolyn Sinclair, and Diane McNair, all of Lumberton; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
