Virginia Locklear Deese, 63, of Maxton, died March 31, 2006, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Little Mission Holiness Church, the Revs. Ellis Cooper and Henry Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Deese was born September 21, 1941, in Robeson County, daughter of the late Carrie Barton Locklear and Belton Locklear Sr. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Little Mission Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Deese; two brothers, Belton Locklear Jr. and Howard Locklear; and a sister, Mary Florence McLeod.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas Deese of Maxton; eight sons, Larry Locklear, Terry Deese, Ray Deese and Ronnie Deese, all of Maxton, Thomas Deese Jr. of McColl, S.C., John Deese of Pembroke, Robert Deese of Dillon, S.C., and Michael Deese of Pembroke; six daughters, Tina Locklear, Steryjen Deese and Teresa Deese, all of Maxton, Doris Deese of Red Springs, Lucy Deese of Raeford and Emma Deese of Laurinburg; four sisters, Mary Lee Locklear, Mary Lois Lowry, Martha Locklear and Susie Locklear, all of Maxton; and 32 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Richard Boles Funeral Service in Laurinburg.
