Our Freedom Ministries will have a “Spring Giveaway” on Saturday. All items donated to the ministry will be given away at no charge.

The ministry’s former location, Revels’ Motel, was destroyed by fire in February. Since then, members have been meeting in the chapel of Revels’ Funeral Home in Pembroke.

United Pentecostal Holy Church host “Two Nights of Atonement” today and Saturday at 7.

MUSIC

Godwin Heights Baptist Church will host the One Way Music Ministry on June 1 at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m.

God’s Blessings Blessings Outreach Ministries, Rowland, will host a gospel music celebration on June 6-7 at 7:30 p.m.
The June 6 program will feature: The Pierce Choir, Jubilee Youth, local singers and drama presentations.
The June 7 program will feature: The McNeills, local singers and drama presentations.
The church is at 103 East Main Street.

Branch Street United Methodist Church, Lumberton, will host The Locklear Brothers and Wendy and the Mt. Moriah Drama Team on June 8 at 6 p.m.

REUNION

McCormick Chapel AME Church, Lumberton, is celebrating a church reunion through Sunday.
An old-fashion cookout and fellowship dinner is today at 5:30 p.m. at the church. A worship service will be at 8 p.m. Elder Mae Helen Gore of Victory House of Worship of Baltimore, Md., will be the speaker. The Sandy Grove Gospel Choir of Lumberton will lead the music.
On Saturday, breakfast will be served at 9 a.m., with the church meeting until 11:30 a.m. A noonday empowerment service will be led by the Rev. Sheldon L. Southerland, pastor of Friendship Community Church of God in Greensboro. He will be joined by Friendship’s congregation.
A pageant/dinner will be at 6 p.m. at the Southeastern Agriculture Center on U.S. 74. Attire is formal, and tickets at $25 each. Brenda Robertson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Laquetta Paylor of Fayetteville and Tracy Tisdale and Denise Dockery of Lumberton will lead the music.
On Sunday, church school is at 8:45 a.m. Worship and holy communion will be at 10 a.m. The Rev. Lavonia Kee McIntyre, Pastor of Israel Temple Church in Jackson, Ga., will speak.
McCormick Chapel is at 215 Main Street.

YOUTH

All youth and young adults are invited to a program on Sunday at Prospect United Methodist Church.
This program will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and is sponsored by the Rockingham District Native American Cooperative Ministry.
The Revs. Herbert Lowry and Deb Wilkins will be workshop leaders. Trey Harris will be the preacher.
Pizza will be provided.

The Pleasant View Baptist Church Youth will have a fund-raiser on June 7 from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
The youth are sponsoring an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. The cost is $4, and plates will be available to be eaten at the church or for take out.

A youth conference will be June 5-8 at the Charles L. Berry Family Life Center at Outreach Family Fellowship. The church is at 138 Pee Dee Church Road, Dillon.
The conference begins at 7 p.m. June 5-6, at 10 a.m. on June 7 and at 9 a.m. on June 8.

PLATE SALES

Tabernacle Baptist Church, N.C. 711, Pembroke, is having a plate sale and singing today.
Chicken plates and barbecue plates will be on sale for $6 each beginning at 11 a.m. Combination plates will be $7 each and sandwiches will cost $3.
The singing will start at 7 p.m and will feature Carla & Redemption, LuCinda Locklear, Johnny Lowery, the Tabernacle Baptist Church choir and the Tabernacle Baptist Drama Team.

YARD SALES

There will be a yard sale, bake sale and barbecue plate sale June 7 at Living Water Worship Center, Bladenboro.
The worship center is at 58 Clyde King Drive, on N.C. 211. Barbecue plates are $5 each. All proceeds from the event will be used for a new roof for the worship center.

CONFERENCES

Christian Faith Center of Lumberton will host a Faith Conference June 11-13 at 7 p.m.
Conference leaders will be: June 11, Bishop Donald Tyler of Greater Grace Apostolic Temple, Tulsa, Okla.; June 12, Dr. Frank Summerfield, Word of God Fellowship, Raleigh; and June 13, Dr. Shine, Seed Faith International Church, Waldorf, Md.
Christian Faith Center is at 1203 Lovette Road.

Greater Higher Grounds Church will sponsor a Men’s Conference June 11-13 at 7:30 p.m. and June 14 at 6 p.m.
Speakers will be: June 11, Bishop Donald Todd Sr. of Lumberton; June 12, the Rev. Linster Strayhorn III of New Bern; June 13, Bishop Arvetra Jones Jr., Aberdeen; and June 14, Elder Robert Williams, Whiteville.
Totally Committed, a gospel music group from Marion, S.C., will perform in the June 14 session of the conference.
The church is at 320-A East 24th Street, Lumberton.

ANNIVERSARIES

The Senior Nurses Aide group at First Baptist Church, 504 West 2nd St., Lumberton, will celebrate its 44th anniversary on Sunday.
A gospel music program will feature: Charles Gardener and Gregg Killins, Junior Spears and the HiLights, Patricial Crawford and One Spirit, Beatrice McDuffie, the Royal Lights, The Crusaders, Levon Jr. and the Spiritual Uplifters, and the Southern Grove Male Chorus.
Admission is free and everyone is invited.
