Hazel Shipp Howard, 91, of 1170 Linkhaw Road, Lumberton, died Saturday at IHS of Lumberton.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Floyd Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Joe Bounds and Dr. Russell T. Cherry officiating. Burial will follow at the Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
Howard was born Dec. 6, 1910, in Sampson County, the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Rosa F. Shipp. She was the widow of E.K. Howard Jr. She attended the Women's College in Greensboro and was a self-taught pianist. She retired from the Robeson County Health Department after 26 years of service. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Lumberton for 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Haynes L. Shipp, C.F. Shipp and Ernestine Fisher; and a sister, Elizabeth Nolan.
Surviving a son, E.K. Howard III and wife, Bridget M. Howard, both of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends Monday morning at 10 at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory Inc., before to the funeral services.
