Non-profits open house is Thursday
LUMBERTON - A downtown non-profit open house will be held on Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served at participating organizations.
All non-profits participating in the event are between First Street and Ninth Street and between Elm Street and Walnut Street. The path starts at the Partnership for Children located at 210 E. Second St., where a list of participating organizations will be given out.

Pembroke sets Day of Caring
PEMBROKE - Pembroke's annual Day of Caring and Sharing will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Pembroke City Fire Department on Thanksgiving Day.
Free Thanksgiving dinners will be served. Volunteers will also be delivering plates to the sick and shut-ins. The event is organized by Sacred Pathways.

Christmas parade scheduled for Dec. 1
MARIETTA - The 21st annual Marietta/Whitehouse Fire Department Christmas Parade is set for 11 a.m. on Dec. 1.
For entry information, call John Bare at 628-9368 or Justin Oliver at 628-6556. Food and craft vendors are asked to call Danny Campbell at 628-6008.
A benefit auction will follow the parade in the Marietta Community Building.
