MAXTON — A Maxton woman reported Wednesday that someone had stolen $2,000 worth of copper wiring from a rental home she owns.
Vickie Walters of McGint Road told a deputy that she had rented a mobile home to the person she suspects of stealing the cooper wiring, according to sheriff’s report.

LUMBERTON — A 37-year-old man reported Wednesday that his home was broken into and $2,100 worth of items were stolen.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Scott Hunt of N.C. 72 came home for lunch to find his plasma television and DVD player were stolen. The burglar entered through a sliding glass door.

LUMBERTON — A 38-year-old Lumberton man reported Wednesday that he was bitten by his neighbor’s dog.
According to a sheriff’s report, Michael William Oxendine of McQueen Road was in his yard when the dog approached and bit him on the wrist. Oxendine’s condition was not listed on the report.
