Heart-Smart party is June 14
LUMBERTON - The Southeastern Regional Medical Center Foundation will host a free Heart Smart Block Party on June 14.
It will be in the parking lots of Lumberton Medical Clinic, at 395 W. 27th St., from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will mark the mid-point of the Southeastern Heart Center construction.
There will be information booths, health screens, entertainment and heart-healthy refreshments. Organizations participating include: Robeson County Health Department, Robeson County Cooperative Extension Agency, Diabetes Community Center, SRMC Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation team, Southeastern Heart Center, Southeastern Lifestyle Center and Duke University Health System.
Visitors can meet heart surgeon Terry Lowry, M.D., a Robeson County native who will be practicing at the Southeastern Heart Center when it opens in early 2006.
Free parking will be available in the SRMC parking deck and west parking lot.
A rain date has been set for June 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. For information, call 671-5499.

Parents' orientation offered at SRMC
LUMBERTON - Expectant parents are invited to attend new parent orientation on June 28 at 7 p.m. in the Assembly Room at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
A video presentation on labor and childbirth and a tour of the NewLife Birthing Suites are included. Admission is free admission. There will be refreshments.
