New Orleans man arrested in car theft
LUMBERTON - Police arrested a New Orleans man Sunday and charged him with stealing a 2003 Ford reportedly taken from Mississippi.
James Douglas Jones, 33, also was charged with driving while his license was revoked and was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, according to a police report. Jones was driving the vehicle on Crandlemire Road when he was arrested.
Police also served outstanding warrants charging him with breaking and entering and larceny.
He was jailed on $15,400 bail.

Bread man robbed Saturday morning
LUMBERTON - A delivery man for Merita was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning after a gunman jumped on his truck, according to police Detective Sgt. Howard Reaves.
Harold Johnson, 59, was robbed of about $50 in personal money, Reaves said. The robbery occurred about 4:30 a.m. in a parking lot off East Fifth Street.

Woman faces stolen vehicle charges
LUMBERTON - A Fayetteville woman was arrested Saturday and charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, a police report said.
Angel Shawn Howard, 35, was arrested on West Fifth Street while driving a 2004 Dodge Neon reported stolen from Hope Mills.
She was released on $1,000 unsecured bail.

Jewelry reportedly taken from car
LUMBERTON - A Florida woman reported $18,000 worth of jewelry was stolen Sunday, a police report said.
Lea Reed, of Yulee, Fla., told police that someone broke into her trunk and stole her luggage. The break-in occurred while her 2002 Nissan Altima was parked at the Waffle House on Jackson Court.

Suspect jailed for vehicle break-in
FAIRMONT - A Fairmont man was arrested Friday and charged with felony breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, a sheriff's report said.
Charles Edward Davis, 58, of 7696 U.S. 130 West, also was charged with misdemeanor larceny. He was jailed on $11,000 bail.

Weapons charge filed against man
RED SPRINGS - A Red Springs man was arrested Thursday and charged with felony discharging a weapon into an occupied property, a sheriff's report said.
Cedric Lionel Gallbreath, 23, of 527 Hendryx Drive, was jailed on $1,000 bail.
