South Robeson Mustangs place
ASHEVILLE - The South Robeson Mustang Raider ROTC team placed in three events during a recent competition at Erwin High School in Asheville.
The Mustangs placed second in the litter carry, second in the humvee pull, and third in land navigation. The Mustang raider team was commanded by cadet Lt. Col. Paul Hunt.

Fairmont Middle PTA meets Tuesday
FAIRMONT - Fairmont Middle School has scheduled a PTA meeting for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Parents and students are encouraged to attend.

East Robeson PTA meets Oct. 8
LUMBERTON - East Robeson School has scheduled a PTA meeting for 7 p.m. Oct. 8.
The school will also hold its EOG Night the same evening. Parents are urged to attend.

Green Grove names Pandas
FAIRMONT - Green Grove Elementary recognized its Positve Pandas for the week of Sept. 24-28.
Recognized were:
Pre-K: Ashton Chavis.
Kindergarten: Makaila Clark and Emani Dixon.
Second grade: Sarah English and Alesia Bartley.
Third Grade: Kendall Rowdy, Justin Handy and Destiny Akers.
The students were chosen as Pandas for their good conduct at school and on the bus.

Orrum Middle festival Oct. 27
ORRUM - Orrum Middle School has scheduled its fall festival and car show for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27.
Registration for the car show begins at 10 a.m. Judging will begin at 1 p.m. The festival will include crafts, food, games and more. Vendors interested in participating should call Chanda Williams at 628-0097, 740-8786 or 682-8408.

Southside names its top staffers
ROWLAND - Southside-Ashpole Elementary School has named Sheila Locklar, Penny Locklear, Sarah Grooms and Keith Jacobs as Employees of the Month for September.
Sheila Locklear is a reading specialist. Penny Locklear is a second-grade teacher and Sarah Grooms teaches first grade. Jacobes is an exceptional children teacher assistant.
They were treated to lunch at B&C Restaurant in Dillon, S.C.
