Benefit bike ride set for April 29
LUMBERTON - Friends and family of the late Tommie Hunt will host a benefit bike ride April 29 to raise money for his unborn daughter, Tomya Lacole Hunt. Hunt died a month ago in a 4-wheeler accident. He was 23 years old.
Registration will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Lumber River Trading Company. The cost is $10 per bike and $15 per couple. Riders will depart from 1675 N. Roberts Ave. between 12:30 and 1 p.m. and arrive at H.B. Spokes in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., at 3 p.m. The ride will resume at 5 p.m. and arrive at the Robeson County Fairgrounds at 7 p.m.
Raffles and 50/50 drawings will be held, and food and refreshments will be served to all participants. Donations will be accepted.

Humane Society sets adoption event
LUMBERTON - The Robeson County Humane Society will have pets available for adoption Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bo’s Supermarket on Roberts Avenue.
