It was a great day for the Empty Stocking Fund as almost 100 children were checked off Santas list as Wednesdays contributions exceeded $4,800.
The most generous gift was $2,000, made anonymously, and that was followed by Ewing and Faye Taylors donation of $1,000. The Praise & Unity Baptist Church in Red Springs contributed $965.
Additionally, local attorney Marcus Williams, with his $500 gift in honor of his late parents, offered a friendly challenge to his courthouse colleagues that they contribute as well.
All seven gifts will also be matched by an anonymous benefactor because each was at least $25.
Gifts to The Empty Stocking Fund can be made in person at our office at 2175 Roberts Ave. or sent through the mail, c/o Empty Stocking Fund, The Robesonian, P.O. Box 1028, Lumberton, N.C., 28359. All the gifts will be listed.
