BLADENBORO -- St. Pauls has dropped a few heart-breakers this season, but Friday night the Bulldogs didn't leave anything to chance.
Forcing turnovers and utilizing a punishing running game, St. Pauls picked up its first Tri-Six Conference win of the season with a commanding 20-0 victory against West Bladen on the road.
The Bulldogs (2-7, 1-2 TSC) rumbled for 283 yards on the ground and forced the Knights (3-5, 1-2) to cough the ball up six times.
West Bladen turned the ball over on two of its first three possessiones and St. Pauls took advantage, jumping out to an early lead on an 8-yard first-quarter touchdown run by Eric Murphy.
The Bulldogs added to their lead when quarterback Adam Lowry found Jarrell Johnson from 19 yards out in the second.
Already in command, St. Pauls put the game away with a 45-yard touchdown run by Arthur Bethea in the third quarter.
Bethea finished with 77 yards on just six carries, while Kenny Stephens and Murphy chipped in 76 and 64 yards rushing, respectively.
