Ethel Elizabeth Carroll Byrd, 69, of Bladenboro, died July 12, 2004, at home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at New Pait Cemetery in Bladenboro, the Rev. Vernon Britt officiating.
Byrd was a homemaker.
Her family said: “She was well known as a very artistic and creative lady, especially with plants.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manchester and Ethel Carroll; and a brother, Eugene Carroll.
Surviving are her husband, John Robert Byrd of the home; a daughter, Mary Dowless and her husband, Terry, of Bladenboro; a son, John Robert Byrd Jr. and his wife, Jill, of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Luella Wike of Bladenboro; two brothers, M.C. Carroll of Laurinburg and Hubert Carroll of Bladenboro; and three grandchildren, Cameron Dowless, Mason Byrd and Emma Byrd.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Kinlaw Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
