Edith Gosnell Herring, 83, of 202 Iona St., Fairmont, died Sunday at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Fairmont, the Rev. Mark E. Gaskins officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairmont Cemetery.
Herring was a retired optometrist and a homemaker. She attended First Baptist Church in Fairmont, and served on the advisory board of Campbell University.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Herring.
Surviving are a son, Hal Herring and his wife, Karen, both of Fairmont; a daughter, Carol Wright and her husband, Tom, both of Boone; a brother, Ralph Gosnell of Elkview, W. Va.; two sisters, Freda Ralston of Portland, Ore., and Polly Johnson of Mooresville; and three grandchildren, Jason Herring of Chapel Hill, Ben Herring of Tulsa, Okla., and Kacy Herring of Fairmont.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont and other times at the home, 202 Iona St., Fairmont.
