Mary Ann Hanna Furmage, 79, of Parkton, died Aug. 16, 2009, at her residence.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Parkton Cemetery, the
Rev. Bonnie Reedy officiating.
A native of Robeson County, she was a retired deputy sheriff with the
Robeson County Sheriffs Department. She also served as an EMT with
Robeson County Emergency Medical Services.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Furmage and his wife Susan, both
of Kernersville, and Mitchell Furmage and his wife Teresa, both of
Parkton; two daughters, Nancy Smith and her husband Jim, both of
Charlotte, and Leigh Furmage of Greensboro; a brother, Duncan Hanna of
Red Springs; sisters-in-law, Doris Furmage Linebarger of Atlanta and
Ruth Furmage Wadford of Raleigh; a brother-in-law, John Tolar Furmage
of Hickory; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at McNeill Mackie
Funeral Home in St. Pauls.
