Fairmont
Henry W. Oxendine, 80, of 875 Atkinson Road, died Nov. 24, 2005, in Roswell, Ga.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, the Revs. Henry Oxendine, Joseph Burns, Sylvia Collins and Jeff Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Born in Robeson County on July 1, 1925, he was a son of the late Claudia Oxendine and Ella Mae Sampson Oxendine.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Maggie Burns Oxendine and Memphis Mitchell Oxendine; a brother, Barney Oxendine; and a sister, Eunice Oxendine Locklear.
Surviving are three sons, Henry Glenn Oxendine and Winfred Oxendine, both of Lumberton, and Granford Oxendine of Rocky Mount; five daughters, Geraldine Rose Oxendine of Fayetteville, Jeanette Oxendine Sampson of Lumberton, Lois Faye Oxendine of Pembroke, Judy Oxendine Hunt of Fairmont and Kanesia Oxendine of Atlanta; three brothers, Lacy Locklear of Lumberton, Willie Webster Oxendine and Julious Oxendine, both of Rowland; three sisters, Evelyn Freeman of Fairmont, Hazel Oxendine of Lexington and Mildred Sampson of Lumberton; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Revels Funeral Home in Lumberton.
